1916 – Mrs Paterson opens shop with Our Grandfather Walter Schneider heading up the bake house.
1918 Swiss master Pastry Cook Jean Stauber joins Mrs Paterson as her business partner. Shortly after Mrs Paterson Dies leaving Mr Stauber as sole owner, with Walter Schneider continuing to oversee production.
1952 Walter Schneider buys Paterson’s from Mr Stauber. He runs the business with his son Alan and daughter Rosa.
1963 Peter Schneider (Alan’s son) current owner & head pastry chef joins the family business, after working in Zurich & Colonge for 2 years.
1995 Rosa retires & Peters sister Pamela comes on board.
1996 Alan retires, leaving Peter and Pam at the helm.
1997 Major remodelling of the shop front and the addition of a small café.
1999 A massive fire closes the Windsor store for two months.
2003 First outlets opens at Centre Road Bentleigh in July.
2004 Camberwell store opens, at Riversdale Road in January.
2005 Clarendon Street store, South Melbourne Store opens in August.
2008 Business operated by brother and sister team Peter & Pamela together with a long tern staff including Peter’s daughter Josephine.
